Everything passengers need to know as new terminal prepares to open at New Orleans' airport
KENNER, La. —
The new terminal at Armstrong International Airport will open to the public Wednesday, Nov. 6.
Many are excited, but there is also quite a bite of confusion from the public.
One of the main questions is driving to the new terminal and the expected traffic.

The Jefferson Parish Council gave the Kenner Police Department $50,000 to help direct traffic in the beginning days of the new terminal opening.
Here's how to get to the new terminal coming from Downtown New Orleans. Passengers will take I-10 West and exit at Loyola Drive. Turn left at Loyola Drive and continue straight across Veterans Boulevard onto Terminal Drive. From there, follow the signs to access the departures, arrivals curb, parking options and more
Passengers coming from west of the airport will take take I-10 East and exit at Loyola Drive. Turn right at Loyola Drive and continue straight across Veterans Boulevard onto Terminal Drive.
Passengers coming from Airline Drive will turn onto the existing Airport Access Road, continue straight toward Veterans Boulevard. Turn left at Veterans Boulevard, and turn left onto Terminal Drive.
When it comes to parking, there will be four parking options with more than 8,000 parking spaces. Passengers can check the airport's website for updates. There will also be signs on I-10 to provide real-time information on which lots are open and which are full.

New terminal parking fees at Armstrong International Airport
Check-in and ticketing is located on Level 3. Security and concourses are located on Level 2. Once passengers get through security, take a right to Concourse A or B or a left to Concourse C. Baggage Claim is on Level 1.
After the opening on Nov. 6, there will be an interactive map on the airport's website for a location or amenity to get point-to-point directions throughout the terminal.
Passengers who park at the old terminal, but will return to the new one, there will be a free Park MSY Express Economy Garage Shuttle, which leaves every 7-10 minutes from in front of the new long-term garage. It will go to the former long-term garage. From there, signs will direct passengers to the other lots.
